Since it's Friday I know you'll all be getting ready for a night out with some friends (and if not tonight, sometime soon you plan to!), what better way to get everyone together than a cocktail night!
Now I'm a self-proclaimed beer and whiskey girl. I usually just drink a beer or whiskey with water & ice, but sometimes you've gotta branch out and try something a little different.
I really like the idea of friends gathered around a table and just getting to let go! Chatting all night long, filled with heart to hearts and laughter. I hope these drinks help bring you and yours together for a great night together!
Here are 5 cocktails I've tried and loved! I wanted to share them with you!
The Moscow Mule
1/2 oz Lime Juice
5oz Ginger Beer
Sprig of mint and lime for garnish
Fill your Copper mugs with ice
Pour in Vodka, Lime Juice and Ginger Beer
Garnish with a sprig of mint and lime slices
** Tip - put the glasses in the freezer for a bit before making the drinks so they're super cold!
Moscato Strawberry Lemonade
1 bottle of pink moscato
6 cups lemonade
1/4 cup strawberry vodka
Frozen strawberry slices
Mix everything in a large pitcher & enjoy!
Blackberry and Meyer Lemon Gin and Tonics
20 fresh mint leaves
2 Meyer lemons (can sub. regular lemons if meyers aren't readily available)
1/4 cup simple syrup
12 ounces good quality gin
Tonic water or club soda
Set out four high ball glasses.
Place 3 blackberries, 5 mint leaves, juice of ½ lemon, and 1 tablespoon simple syrup in each glass and muddle together (thats the fun part, I love to muddle!).
Fill each glass with ice, followed by 3 ounces of gin.
**Top off each drink with tonic water (I prefer club soda, so I used this for my personal glass), stir and serve.
(Probably my favourite since it's so fresh tasting! I LOVE Grapefruit!!)
(Grapefruit Soda & Tequila)
2 oz Tequila
Grapefruit Soda (or if you can't find a grapefruit soda, a simple mix of grapefruit juice, simple syrup and club soda works great!)
Mix together and enjoy!
***Garnish with grapefruit pieces, limes or lemons. You can also sugar the rim if you're really trying to make this simple drink fancy!
The Henry Collins
(A Tom Collins with Whiskey in place of Gin)
2oz of your favourite whiskey
1oz Lemon juice
Club soda to top up the glass
Cherries or orange slices to garnish
Add the whiskey, lemon juice & sugar to a shaker and fill with ice
Shake and strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice
**Top with club soda and garnish with a fresh cherry or and orange slice (if that suits you better)
These are a mix of fruity, refreshing & unique cocktails. I can't wait to get all my friends together and mix up some of these tasty beverages! (please drink responsibly ladies & gents, we all like to have some fun and cut loose, but we don't want anyone getting hurt!)
